Fencing Dragons

The SMU Team took part in the SMU Dragonboat Regatta last weekend which was held at the very far Raffles Marina.

It was indeed a great experience for us. We got to try out a totally different sport. We normally wear a lot of clothes (like, at least 3 layers + breeches or long pants) during fencing, and train in an indoor, aircon, dry environment. Now we got onto a totally different thing where we just wear shorts n tshirts/singlet, gotta put some sunblock lotion, go under the hot sun, get wet and dirty. But I gusssed we had fun, didn't we, fencing dragons?

CCA DAY 2007

For the success of CCA DAY for our fencing booth and clinic's response. A BIG THANK YOU to all that has helped on wed booth and friday's cca day.

Thanks for all the help from writing run dates on postcards to carrying stuff from the not very near admin block to the not very near booth, walking around psychoing ppl, or sitting at the booth showing your beautiful legs and collecting money.

ALL AND ALL, every single effort means something.

With the new batch of fencers coming, the club has entered a new phase of smu fencing life.

After-dinner activity at CY's place!

We had a generous treat from Coach for our series of successes at HK and at Pesta Sukan.. Photos are duno with who.. Then we had an after-dinner acitivity at lucy's house.. Obviously the hungry fencers got hungry easily and we had supper (which kind xuyang brought here for us) after much mahjong-ing..

Lastly on behalf of the team, thank you Coach for the dinner! We enjoyed it

Ok I know this is a repeat, but personally just wanna thank all who have been with us physically and mentally. Thanks for being there. It was important.

And yes, Hanwen and Vivien, good job! *Pat on our backs*

Proud of us

Yay! We won bronze for Pesta Sukan! I remember talking about getting a medal at Pesta Sukan for years. I'm so glad to win this with these 2 girls. Though we were rather lucky for this competition, we didn't take it for granted and gave our all. I'm proud of us. We went further than our guys! =p Before today, I wasn't confident of winning a medal but we did it! Proof that we were totally not expecting a medal - none of us brought a camera for today. So excuse the badly taken pictures.

Guys who came down to support the girls - Ziwen, Jianwei, Zhengrong, Young, Chuanyao, Shawn - Thanks! And the 3 of us were very touched by Xuehui's sms this morning too. Thanks everyone. =)
